WISCONSIN - Several inches of snow are likely across portions of Wisconsin tonight and through Saturday. An Ice Storm could develop across northern IL, northeast IA, and far southern WI which warrants keeping an eye if you're traveling through the region Saturday morning but also those who live there which may see power outages or dangerous road conditions. A lull in activity is likely during the mid-day hours before the final burst of snow Saturday night. Here is the latest information with a detailed discussion available to members here...
Models yesterday to today have reduced the snowfall amounts and trimmed them back into southeast Wisconsin. Still it appears that storm total accumulations will reach 8-12" across a narrow section of southeast Wisconsin. 4-8" southwest towards Dubuque including Madison. A sharp gradient across central WI.
Freezing Rain Risk
There is a strong signal for freezing rain across northeast Iowa into northern IL and southern WI. Be prepared for possible power outages and difficult driving conditions Saturday morning in these areas. Ice accumulations may reach or exceed 0.5" between Dubuque & Davenport. 0.25" amounts could extend along the WI/IL border.
