Storm Update #2 - More snow north

11:00AM TUES - Latest models have come into agreement for snow accumulations across northern Wisconsin beginning now and ending early tomorrow morning. The big change was to focus/increase snow accumulations in the main band from Eau Claire to Lakewood.

Snow bands developing over Minnesota. Scattered development across Iowa. Moving east this afternoon/tonight.

Here are the updated maps:

10:40AM - Snowfall forecast update. Boost to 4-8 from Eau Claire to Lakewood WI. Added a 2-4.

After looking at current radar and model trends, decided we needed a 4-8" zone instead of a 3-6". This allowed me to bring in a 2-4" which is a better fit. Now we have nailed down the heaviest snow. 6" was simply too low and needed to be increased. Good snow bands forming in the vicinity of Minneapolis that will spread east tonight. The full 12z model suite generally agreed with this.

Freezing Rain

Little to no change on ice accumulation amounts except to push the freezing rain potential further north to cover freezing drizzle overnight roughly along and south of a Green Bay - La Crosse line. Minor sleet accumulations <=0.5". Be prepared for ice covered roads and power/cable/internet outages especially in northeast Illinois/Kenosha county.

Very subtle shift north if the ice forecast for southeast Wisconsin. Be prepared for ice covered roads up to 0.5 inches.
