MON 10:41AM - Upgraded to SEVERE across southern WI.
MON 7:10 AM - Right now a cluster of strong to severe cells are moving through central Wisconsin. Damaging wind gusts are the primary threat this AM. Not sure how far east this thing will make it.
Thermodynamically driven thunderstorm event likely to develop in southern Wisconsin TODAY. Wind shear poor, instability good thus storms will line up quickly and march east. While the impacted area may be widespread, I think overall threat will be on par with what we saw through-out the weekend. Strong storms, perhaps some severe-criteria cells. I'm watching near-to/along the WI/IL border but mid afternoon where the TARGET is, models seem to hit that area the hardest.
I pulled the STRONG zone into Door County (far eastern NE WI) because didn't see much activity there in last 24 hours. Airmass is probably supportive of a few thunderstorms. Central WI is another spot that was missed yesterday and probably ready for some storms...getting some right now.
