About the Service

WWW.WISCONSINWX.COM is a website built to share and communicate weather information. Wisconsin Weather produces daily in-house, quality assured, accurate weather forecasts. We provide expert weather forecasts from and experienced team of storm chasers and meteorlogists. We provide easy to read high resolution weather maps, storm alerts, email blog updates, National Weather Service warnings, and more! Have peace of mind knowing exactly what the weather is going to do while being able to confidently plan ahead. You’re not just becoming a member, you’re supporting an Wisconsin owned, hard working, passionate and dedicated small business.

Membership Rules & Expectations

  • You must be at least 13 years old.
  • You are responsible for your account and associated activity.
  • You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We will not be responsible for any loss, liability, or damages that occur as a result of authorized account use.
  • You will not submit content that is copyrighted or subject to third-party proprietary rights unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from the owner.
  • You will not post information or photography that is false, malicious, or inaccurate.
  • You understand and agree that any loss, liability, or damages that occur as a result of the content you make available through our website is solely your responsibility.

Post & Conduct Restrictions

Your permission to use this website is conditioned upon the following Post and Conduct Restrictions. You agree that in any circumstance you will NOT:

  • Share any information that is abusive, threatening, obscene, defamatory, libelous, or racially, sexually, or otherwise objectionable or offensive.
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose or promotion of illegal activities.
  • Attempt to harass, abuse, or harm another person or group.
  • Use another user’s account without permission.
  • Interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper functioning of the service.
  • Evade our robot exclusion measures.
  • Publish or link malicious content intended to disrupt or damage another user’s computer.
  • Reference or use another user’s content for the sole purpose of notoriety or recognition.
  • Upload, share, or interact with the website in any manner while operating a vehicle.

We encourage difference of opinion and thoughtful conversation on weather related topics! Content considered to be political, unrelated to weather, or creating a negative experience for our members & vistors may be removed without notification. You may promote yourself or your weather-related projects, products, or creations. You may not share advertisements otherwise. If we suspect your account is spam it will be deleted.

Opinions, advice, statement, offers, bets, or other information or content made available through our website are those of the respective authors. Such authors are solely responsible for such content. WWW.WISCONSINWX.COM does not gurantee the accuracy, completeness, relability, or usefulness of the content on the website and takes no responsibility for loss or damages of the content shared via our website. Weather forecasts are based on interpretation of numerical forecast model output and is speculation until proven factual following the weather event.

We maintain the right, but have no obligation, to monitor materials throughout our website at any time for any reason. We may deny or limit access to the website at any time, or take necessary and appropriate action if the Terms of Use and conditions agreement is violated. We maintain the right to remove content that violates the Terms of Use and conditions agreement, or is considered unlawful or malicious. Misuse or violation of these terms may result in prosecution under federal, state or local law.

Geolocation

WWW.WISCONSINWX.COM may ask for your current location such as latitude, longitude, azimuth, location, and/or city. This information is not required to register. Location information will be required to submit reports but is optional for uploaded content such as images and video. You will be prompted to share your location and if permitted your location information will be stored for all images, videos, and reports uploaded to the website. We are not responsible for any damages that come as a result of sharing your location information.

Storm Reports

Storm spotter training is recommended prior to use. We will not tolerate false information. Storm reports must be factual to the best of your knowledge, measurement, or estimation. Users who submit intentionally misleading reports will be blacklisted which may lead to deactivation or permanent deletion of your account. Storm reports deemed extreme or high priority (tornado, flood) may be shared with the National Weather Service on your behalf by website admins. We are not obligated to forward storm reports to the National Weather Service and you should contact them directly in the event of potentially deadly weather conditions.

Personal Information

We respect the privacy of WWW.WISCONSINWX.COM users. We WILL NOT sell or distribute your personal information to third parties. The only personal information we require is an active/valid email address.

Cookies

We use cookies to improve the performance of the website. We will store a few pieces of member information and membership status. Most of our cookies track viewership of our posts, storms, and forecast pages. Our viewership records consist only of a simple hit counter on the storm, posts, and forecast database records themselves. They are not attached to member information in anyway and exipire after 30 minutes.

Achievements

There are perks to using our website and this is one way I hope to give back! If you can't do it safely - don't do it at all! Please do not participate unless you have appropriate training. Please do not put yourself or anyone else in danger. Please do not drive or operate a vehicle while using our website.

SMS/Text Messaging, Private Messaging, and Email

We use Twilio as our third party sender of SMS/text message information. All SMS/Text Messages and email sent to us are PRIVATE..i.e between you and us (admins). We store the following information for each SMS/text message: phone number and location of the sender. We save the following location information of messages sent to us...city, state, and zipcode. This is used to help locate and serve you in the shortest amount of time by already knowing where you're talking to us from. We do not save images sent to us (Twilio does) however we may ask to share for other purposes.

Membership Payments

We use a third party vendor called PayPal for all monetary transactions. Upon any interaction with Paypal; the only personal information we store is your email address in case there is an issue with the transaction.

Delete Account or Membership

Accounts can be deleted via the account page. In the event you wish to delete your account, your personal information and all website content associated with it will be permanently deleted (no strings attached). Any associated membership fees will be canceled immediately. You will be removed from our mailing list.

Return Policy

If you are not satisfied with our service, you have 30 days to request a refund. We provide time-sensitive information. Our service and insight is provided in the moment. We will not issue a refund beyond 30 days of services rendered (for example if you paid for January you have until the end of February). EXCEPTION: We will issue refunds if we confirm a technical error with the website relating directly to the membership payment process itself; for example being double charged or an outage

Cancel Payments

Should you cancel a membership fee payment from the PayPal website; your Wisconsin Weather membership will be immediately cancelled. Your account will remain active. To completely remove your account you will need to visit our account page.

Deleted Content

All content that you create or upload - except storm reports - can be removed at any time by you.

Links to Other Sites

WWW.WISCONSINWX.COM may provide links to third party content as well as items belonging to third parties as courtesy to our members. We have no control over third party sites or the content they provide. We do not monitor nor are we responsible for these third party sites with respect to accuracy, appropriateness, offensiveness, opinions, privacy practices, or completeness. We are not responsible for damages as result of third party site. If you decide to leave the website you do so at your own risk.

License Grant

By posting content via WWW.WISCONSINWX.COM, you expressly grant and recognize the right to grant to the website; royalty free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display of all such user content in connection with your account including your username, voice, thumbnail image, banner image, in whole or in part, media or technology, whether now known or hereafter developed, for use in connection with the website and its services within context. Only thing we won’t do is sublicense.

Right to Cancel

We may cancel your service at any time if your interation with the website is detrimental to the operation of the website itself.

Intellectual Property

You acknowledge that we and our licensors retain ownership of all intellectual rights.

Modification of Terms of Use

We may modify the Terms of Use at any time and without notice.
