Good news. If your membership was canceled BUT you kept your account, you can now reactivate your membership! The reactivation button is on the Account page under the Membership tab. Clicking this button will only flip the membershipActive flag in the system so you can receive alerts/comms and interact with the website. If you run into problems please let me know. New memberships can now be started too if interested. There is bug with the "like" button not working on the post page and discussion boards that I will fix. Several things on my mind for the coming months. Thanks!

Update 11.11 went out tonight and SMS/TXT MSG services should be working again. You will need to verify your number on the account page. Once verified all updates (nws, blog, etc) should flow like before. Cleared the way for new member registration & updated the registration page. Post update I realized we don't have a reactivation process for old expired accounts so I'm keeping the maintenance block on the registration page until I can finish the job. And the service descriptions have changed so need to update the advert. Beyond that hopefully some new content, features, and forecasts one of these days. Thanks!

Pushed a few fixes live tonight. I’m bringing back the SMS/TXT MSG service for free! It's not quite ready yet. I reset everybody's phoneNumComfirmed flag to 0 so that no messages will get sent unless you opt-in again. Will let you know how to do that later. I loved that service and I'm excited for it's return. Another motivation is to add service for scheduled send of 7 Day Forecasts, let's say every SUN PM for the week ahead so it just hits my phone and I don't have to go searching for it. I'm still working through sms integration with the provider and will let you know when it's ready. One last thing; I'm itching to bring back free memberships and that should happen on the next update. Take care guys!

OCTOBER UPDATE: hoping to push through some fixes soon following the 11.0 update last month. Will fix issue with timestamp showing as UTC and profile page composer error message. I recently started working full time again in the analytical field so my availability is not what it used to be but looking forward to when the development itch returns! I have a list of idea's and even though my presence here is diminished I'm always keeping an eye on things. I'm open & hopeful to return. Never know what the future will bring! Progress continues on WIWX 11.0 upgrade. Here is a sample of the new "feed". It LOOKS very similar to Facebook but handles a little differently. Goal has been to improve the experience/usability for members while standardizing/improving code on the back-end for me. Development for this extends all the way back to the database introducing a new table to handle the feed and make it load quicker. Man it's a HUGE project but this new system is so awesome! Changes the potential ways content can be displayed around the website. Still in the middle of development with weeks left to finish. Lot of loose ends to clean up + testing. Getting there!

Thunderstorm clusters entering Wisconsin this morning, continuing east today. Severe weather possible. Warm front in southern WI. Clusters out west at the moment not well organized and interfering with each other. Question is can it get organized over WI today? I'm not sure but interesting to watch!

Next week I will resume development work on the upcoming major update. Reworking the entire "news feed" flow of information that will be displayed in various places around the site. This requires a new database architecture and it's a process to both design & implement. It feels like a natural next step in the evolution of the website, one step closer to perfection and something I've been trying to figure out for awhile just recently coming clear. I'm considering a change to the home page news feed such that ALL my posts CAN appear at the top, i.e image or text updates. Because I don't tend to update the blog and if I don't expire it, old information sits at the top when newer info exists. Anyway, plenty of other projects left to accomplish in the weeks ahead which can move forward after this "feed" project is settled. Take care!

Watching cells moving thru Duluth, MN area now. Severe Tstorm Warnings pretty common with the cells tonight. Just a few cells atm, maybe some upscale growth this evening into bowing segments. Northern WI most at risk tonight.
